KQED Twitter:  Do Now

What is Twitter KQED Do Now?

Do Now STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) is a monthly activity for students to engage and respond to current issues using social media tools like Twitter. KQED aims to introduce 21st Century skills and add value to learning through the integration of relevant local content and new media tools and technologies. Do Now gives students a chance to practice engagement and digital citizenship skills while they explore ways to connect topics in their classes to the present day.

Why are we using Twitter KQED Do Now?

Students will be learning about science, connecting what we learn in class to the "real world", and learning and using technology and communication skills that will prepare students for college and their careers.  Participating in these monthly chats will also allow students to meet and perform some of the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
